Wind energy projects receive credit boost
Ottawa (UPI) Mar 25, 2009
Wind energy projects run by Wind Works Power Corp. received a boost with a $10 million credit facility that will go toward developing capacity in Canada, the United States and Europe. Wind Works Power Corp. said it was pledged the line of credit after an investment agreement signed with Kodiak Capital Group LLC of New York. A plan to build the United States' largest offshore wind farm in Nantucket Sound, Mass., has suffered another setback after nine years of environmental and political arguments. Energy Management Inc.'s proposed Cape Wind $1 billion wind farm would cover 24 square miles -- an area roughly the size of Manhattan -- in the sound.
